Ithemba is a documentary which provides an overview of what the Peacekeeping Committees do.
It focuses on the work of Mandisa Chabalala and one case in particular before taking in other facets of their work. How their work is perceived and supported by their community, the police , national and local government is also covered.

Scars deals more closely with the details of a case which actually took place: a fight in a tavern between a group of teenage girls which resulted in the stabbing of one of them.
We see the step by step narrative of how the Peace Committee dealt with this particular case, their gathering procedures and the principles they follow, the frustrations of the Committee members in dealing with participants who are struggling with issues of their own and how it all resolves itself.
Like Ithemba, this documentary is beautifully and evocatively photographed. The film maker won a MIPDOC TRAILBLAZER award as a film maker with a collection of work in creative and innovative documentaries.
